The Red Rocks publishing platform

Your industry’s daily news brand, published every day — running itself.

A turnkey publishing platform for associations, trade groups, consultancies, brokers, investment firms and industry operators who want to own the authoritative daily news brand in their vertical — without hiring an editorial team or building software.

Owning the daily conversation is the most defensible asset there is. It is also the hardest to sustain.

It is the asset every competitor envies

The organization that publishes the news its industry reads every morning owns attention nobody can buy back. That is real, durable marketing leverage.

But daily publishing is a full newsroom

Doing it properly takes an editor, a writer, a designer, a developer and a mailing operation — every single day, without a day off.

So most attempts stall by issue four

A newsletter launches with enthusiasm, publishes a handful of issues, and quietly stops when the person driving it runs out of hours.

The answer

We stand up a branded news site on your own domain — and it publishes the day’s news continuously.

We wire your site to the feeds and sources that matter in your industry, and it gathers, sorts and drafts the day’s news around the clock. You approve what goes out; the machinery does the rest. Your team’s involvement can be as light as ten minutes a day — and because the site learns your judgement as you work, that shrinks over time.

What you get

Not a tool you have to operate, but a working publication — the site, the engine that feeds it, and the daily briefing that goes out under your name.

The site your readers see

A complete, search-ready news site on your own domain — and every part of it is inventory or authority working for you.

A complete branded news site on your own domain

Your logo, colors, name and tagline — all editable from the admin, no developer. Your domain, your DNS, your search authority.

Your email output compounds into a public library

Every issue you send becomes a permanent, indexable web page, so your daily work keeps drawing search traffic long after it lands in inboxes.

A sellable events calendar with reader submissions

Month grid, list view, filters and event pages — and a public submission form where companies ask to put a conference in front of your readers.

Everything editable without a developer

Name, colors, copy, coverage language, send schedule and more all change from the admin — no redeploy, no ticket, no waiting.

The engine, and your ten minutes a day

The hard part of a daily feed is turning a firehose into something worth reading. This is where that happens.

De-duplicates the same story across eight outlets

When a dozen publications cover one event, the platform clusters them as a single story instead of flooding your feed with near-identical headlines. This is the difference between a usable feed and noise.

The ten-minute editorial queue

Every incoming story arrives with a drafted editorial note. You publish, feature, edit or reject — with bulk actions to clear the queue fast. Nothing publishes without passing your desk.

Importance scoring surfaces what matters

The significant stories rise to the top of your review queue instead of arriving in raw chronological order, so your ten minutes go to the decisions that count.

Self-tuning feed screening — with a single off switch

Once your site has a track record, the platform learns what you approve and reject and writes screening rules in your own editorial pattern, revisiting them monthly. One switch turns it all off.

The daily briefing that goes out under your name

One action assembles the issue. Your brand carries it. Your account holds the list.

The daily briefing, composed in one action

The platform assembles the issue from your approved stories, writes the subject line and opening, orders by significance, and shows a live preview before anything sends.

A custom hero graphic for every single issue

Built from your master template with the day’s callouts dropped in, so issues stay visually consistent and instantly recognizable. Re-roll it before sending if you don’t like it.

Your list stays in your own account — never in ours

The subscriber list lives in your own email provider, in your name, on your billing. We never store subscriber addresses, so there is no version of leaving that involves getting your list back.

Social distribution, on your terms

Push briefings and articles to Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram automatically, with a per-platform switch and captions written for each. Off by default until you turn it on.

Original reporting

Original articles under your masthead — put through a verification desk before they publish.

Not summaries of other people’s news — full pieces written from sourced research and published in your voice. The point is not that it writes; it is what it refuses to publish.

Subjects come from your own archive first

The desk looks across everything you have published for a theme worth writing up. That piece is unique by construction — nobody else has your archive — and every claim traces back to something you already published.

A research gate before a word is drafted

Sources are gathered, dated and rated. Any trade-moving figure needs a top-tier source or it is cut — and if cutting it removes the central claim, the subject is killed before drafting.

An adversarial verification round on every draft

A second pass interrogates every figure, date, quote and attribution. Each must be backed by a named source with a date and a real, retrieved link. Nothing is accepted on the strength of the writing alone.

When verification and the draft disagree, it does not publish as-is

Figures are corrected to the source; unsupportable claims are cut; and if what remains is too thin to stand, the article is abandoned. There is no path by which an unverified figure quietly reaches your readers.

A complete audit trail sits behind every article: every claim that was corrected or cut, what the source actually said, and every attempt that was abandoned and why. If a reader ever challenges a figure you published, ask us and we can always tell you exactly why — the same day. The desk is also allowed to publish nothing: if no subject clears the research bar on a given run, nothing goes out.

Every site ships with a named human editor

Your site carries a real person’s name as editor and a published editorial policy that states plainly how the site is produced, including where automated drafting is used and what review it passes through. We will not launch a site without a named editor. For an organization whose entire asset is its credibility, disclosing the method is what protects the masthead — and readers and search engines both reward it. We can provide an editor if you do not have one.

A business, not just a publication

Sellable inventory on day one — built into the site, not bolted on from a network.

Advertising is native to the platform: no revenue share, no network policies, no intermediary between you and your advertiser. To be plain about the boundary — the platform gives you the inventory, the delivery and the reporting. It does not sell the space for you. That is your relationship and your salesperson.

Seven positions to sell

Homepage top, in-feed, in-article, article foot, events calendar, archive, and the sponsor slot inside the daily briefing — where a focused B2B list is worth the most per reader.

Weighting, flight dates and caps

Give each ad a weight from 0 to 100, set start and end dates, and cap the run by total views or clicks — so an advertiser gets exactly what they bought and no more, without you watching it by hand.

Counting you can defend

Every request passes Cloudflare’s bot detection before an impression or click is recorded server-side. We report impressions served against filtered requests — not that an ad was seen. Web and email figures are reported separately, never blended.

A shareable advertiser report

One private link you send a client — no login, not indexed — showing views, clicks, click rate, a per-position breakdown and a sixty-day history, with a plain-English panel on how each number is counted.

Ads served from your own domain

Because your ads serve from your site rather than a network host, a materially larger share of what you sold actually reaches a reader in a B2B desktop audience where blocker use runs high.

Paid event listings

Your events calendar is inventory too — companies in your industry will pay to put a conference or webinar in front of your readers, and the submission form is where those requests arrive.

How it works

Setup is done for you, not handed to you as software to figure out.

1

Discovery call

We map your industry’s beats, regions and the sources that matter — or start from the source list you already have.

2

We brand it

Your logo, colors, domain and voice. The site launches as yours, not as a template with your name pasted on.

3

We set your email up

You open a Buttondown account in your own name and we configure it — or we connect to your existing Mailchimp or other provider — with your sending domain set so mail goes out under your name.

4

We load your feeds and run week one with you

Your sources go in and we run the first week alongside you, tuning the queue to your judgement.

5

You go live and publish daily

You approve what goes out; the machinery does the rest. About ten minutes a day — shrinking as the site learns.

What we need from you

Short and honest — because being straight about the work is what keeps a news brand alive past month two.

  • A named editor — a real person accountable to readers. We can provide one if you don’t have one.
  • About ten minutes a day for the editorial queue.
  • An email account in your own name — Buttondown if you’re starting fresh, or the provider you already use — which you own and pay for directly.
  • A few DNS records on your domain, so your email authenticates properly.
  • Your beats and your source list — or an hour on a call to build one with us.

Your subscriber list should never sit inside a vendor’s account — which is why the email account is yours, in your name, and we never hold your list.

Who it’s for

Industry associations

Own the daily conversation your members already look to you for — without standing up a newsroom.

A trade publication being rebuilt

Replace a stalled or costly production process with a platform that runs the daily grind for you.

Consultancies building authority

Become the source your market reads every morning, and turn that attention into pipeline.

PE / investment firms tracking a sector

Run the definitive daily brief on a sector you invest in — and own the relationships it builds.

Equipment or services vendors

Own a category the way a publisher does, instead of renting attention through ads alone.

Regional business journals

Publish daily across your region without the headcount a daily has always demanded.

Why this beats the alternatives

Each alternative is genuinely better at something. Here is what, and here is where a platform wins.

Hiring an editor

Genuinely better at: judgement calls, original relationships, and the voice only a human in your industry has.

But one editor still needs a writer, a designer, a developer and a mailing operation behind them. The platform is the rest of that team — your editor keeps the judgement and hands off the grind.

A tool like Mailchimp or Substack

Genuinely better at: being cheap to start and simple to send a plain newsletter from.

But they hand you an empty box. There is no news engine gathering and de-duplicating your industry’s stories, no editorial queue, no original reporting desk, no ad system. You still have to produce everything that goes in.

Building it yourself

Genuinely better at: total control, if you have the engineering team and the years.

But you would be rebuilding ingestion, de-duplication, classification, a verification desk, an ad server and a newsletter pipeline — then maintaining all of it. This is that system, already built, hosted and monitored.

Live proof

Four brands running on one platform, each with its own branding, coverage and voice. Shale Markets and RenewaNews carry their own domains — this is what yours looks like. The two on redrocks.news show the range: same platform, completely different beat and voice.
